Khoda Nekneh: Bravo Reveals Shahs Of Sunset Spinoff “The Valley: Persian Style”

It’s all happening! On May 7, Bravo revealed that a new show was in the works that’s a cross between The Valley and Shahs of Sunset. The Valley: Persian Style (working title) will star some of the Shahs of Sunset’s most beloved cast members in an entirely new phase of life. The network is welcoming other new shows and reboots, but The Valley: Persian Style has Shahs fans excited.

Everything We Know About The Valley: Persian Style

Bravo’s former reality TV show, Shahs of Sunset, ended back in 2022 after nine seasons. Diehard fans missed the group’s dynamic and dramatic storylines, but the series “ran its course,” according to Page Six. Luckily, Bravo is bringing back some of the show’s most beloved cast members and transitioning them to a new series that’s been described as a mix between Bravo’s The Valley and Shahs of Sunset.

The Valley: Persian Style (working title) will star Reza Farahan, Golnesa “GG” Gharachedaghi, and Mercedes “MJ” Javid. Once Bravo revealed that the series was joining a handful of other new shows coming to Bravo, the three longtime friends and cast members took to social media to share their excitement.

According to Bravo, longtime Executive Producer Alex Baskin shared his excitement with the Bravo universe. “Thrilled to do this Persian style! We’re honored to bring a new series with this [Bravo] and reality royalty to life! Can’t wait to introduce the entire friend group!”

Based in Los Angeles’s the Valley, the series will show MJ, GG, and Reza in a different phase of life compared to their days on Shahs of Sunset. Bravo’s official description for the show reads:

“Reza Farahan, Golnesa ‘GG’ Gharachedaghi, and Mercedes ‘MJ’ Javid share an unbreakable bond — one built on years of friendship, fiery clashes, and the kind of history that never fades. They also share a deep connection to their Persian culture, something that runs just as strong in the group of friends they now call family. As they take on the next stage of life in the Valley, their world is bigger, their circle is bolder, and their challenges are more real than ever.”

As we’ll see, their next chapter in life isn’t quieter, it’s just more complicated.

Who Else Is In The Cast?

As of this article’s publishing, only GG, MJ, and Reza have been announced as official cast members. However, since the series will showcase a new friend group, Reddit sleuths have some theories on possible cast members.

One thread by Reddit user shared a photo that was posted on social media of potential castmates.

  • It’s theorized that the group’s partners will be a part of the series.
  • Social media personality Reza Jax was a part of the group photo shared on social media. He also follows GG, Reza, and MJ on Instagram.

Until the official cast list comes from Bravo, however, fans will need to hang tight.

The Dark Side Of Shahs Of Sunset

In 2022, it was reported that Bravo was canceling Shahs of Sunset after nine incredible seasons. The series followed “Persian Americans” in Los Angeles, showcasing a mixture of diverse cultures and friendship.

Although Page Six shared that Ryan Seacrest Productions claimed the series “ran its course,” the conclusion to the series could have also been attached to the many dark sides of the cast.

Mike Shouhed’s Bad Reputation

Mike Shouhed is not a part of The Valley: Persian Style and it’s evident why. Around the time Shahs of Sunset was canceled, he was arrested for domestic violence. The name of his victim was not reported. However, many stated it was his then-fiancée Paulina Ben-Cohen. Mike denied the allegations.

According to People, Paulina later sued Mike for damages after allegedly being “viciously, brutally, and repeatedly assaulted and battered.” The attack is allegedly photographed thanks to security cameras in their home. The complaint read, “After Shouhed went upstairs to retrieve one of his firearms, the police were called, came to the residence and arrested Shouhed.”

The outlet reported that he was charged with 14 criminal charges. Some include domestic violence, unlawfully attempting to dissuade a victim from making a report, weapons charges, battery, and more.

Golnesa “GG” Gharachedaghi Also Has A Dark Side

Like Mike, GG has also had troubling storylines on and off the series.

In March 2025, Paulina Ben-Cohen filed a temporary restraining order against GG for assault. Paulina alleged GG followed her into a store before forcing her outside to talk. She then hurled insults and threats towards Paulina before hitting her in the face and throwing away her phone.

The security guards got involved before the police came. People reported that GG had a history of violence, drug abuse, and severe rage issues. She has tried to work through some of her issues while on Shahs of Sunset, but little has been resolved.

Now with a young son, fans of Shahs are hoping to see a new side of her for The Valley: Persian Style.
