The stage is set. The call has returned. On September 28th at UCLA, Ney Naameh comes alive once more in a powerful fusion of poetry, music, and movement—rooted in the spiritual depth of Rumi.

🌿 About the Story
Ney Naameh is the poetic prologue to Masnavi, the spiritual masterpiece by Jalal al-Din Rumi. It tells the story of the reed flute—a symbol of the human soul—separated from its source and longing to return.
This performance focuses on the first part of the story: the soul’s descent to Earth. Through this lens, Ney Naameh explores themes of separation, arrival, and the early stirrings of spiritual memory in the human experience.
Vasht’s adaptation brings this ancient narrative to life through a multimedia performance grounded in the wisdom, spirituality, and aesthetics of the Iranian plateau—bridging history and art in a form accessible to all, regardless of language.
